Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive, effective and efficient treatment in which a device is used to pass acoustic shockwaves through the skin to the injured area. Shockwave therapy has been proven to help individuals struggling with soft tissue, joint or bone conditions that have not 100% improved with other treatments.

The device sends shockwaves that stimulate the body’s own healing mechanisms by causing a small amount of local inflammation in order to repair the damaged tissue. Through stimulating the repair and regeneration of cells, the process reduces pain following treatment and allows a faster recovery from injury. A normal course of treatment will consist of three sessions with no more than a two week gap between sessions. More sessions could be considered for chronic conditions.

Our team at Studio Podiatry will be able to identify whether you will benefit from this technology and develop a comprehensive, individualised treatment plan to get you back on your feet as quickly as possible.
