What is SWIFT wart removal treatment?
SWIFT uses a short, sudden burst of microwave energy which is delivered through a special probe applied to the skin to treat the affected tissue.
It is a new and breakthrough technology, which has been licensed for general treatment of skin lesions in Podiatry and Dermatology.
It is especially effective for treating verruca/ plantar wart lesions, in particular the long term, stubborn and non resolving cases.
SWIFT has an 83% resolution rate. Higher success than any other wart treatment.

Does it hurt?
Typically, a sharp, warm sensation is felt for 1-2 seconds before instantly subsiding. This is repeated 4-12 times per lesion in most cases.
Although treatment is brief, pain is an individual experience. We can offer local anaesthetic via topical cream or by injection to ‘numb’ the area. This may be suitable for sensitive lesions or for treating a widespread area.
What happens after the treatment?
- Typically no aftercare treatment is required.
- The skin does not need to be covered and no chemicals are applied.
- There is typically no pain or discomfort once treatment is over.
- In some cases the skin may feel some sensitivity for 12-72 hours after.
- Normal daily activities are able to be carried out immediately after including general exercise and swimming.
How many treatments will I need?
In most cases 3 treatments or less are required, however depends on how you respond to the treatment. Four weeks in the most optimal period of time between SWIFT treatments.
Can anyone receive this treatment?
With a few exceptions, most people with skin lesions would be able to have this treatment.
